Louise Burger Contest

June 14 until June 27

The Municipality of Louise is having another burger contest! The Sentinel Courier, Louise CDC and Louise Recreation are working together to make this event one that gets a lot of attention. Thanks to the incredible sponsorship of the Pilot Mound Chamber of Commerce and the Pembina Co-op all the advertising has been paid for. They wanted to show support for local restaurants during this very difficult time so they made a very generous donation too cover 100% of the advertising.

There are 4 locations participating and they have each come up with mouth-watering burgers to entice you.
         1.Yogi’s Diner:  Swiss
This delicious 5oz seasoned beef patty is one you are not going to want to miss out on! Loaded with crisp lettuce, thinly sliced tomato, red onion, sautéed mushrooms, and topped with savoury bacon. To finish it off this burger has a slice of not just one, but both swiss and cheddar cheese!

        4. Clearwater Junction Restaurant: "Bacon Me Crazy”
The classic bacon cheese but done the Junction way.
Our all beef patty stuffed with Bothwell Sharp Cheddar, topped with more cheese, maple glazed bacon, crispy battered onion rings, and house made bacon aioli.
Beef & Bacon sourced from our friends just down the road, Stewart South Shore Meats.

So what are the rules? The first thing you need to do is go out and try all the burgers anytime between June 14 to June 27, this year you have two weeks to try them all!  How you get through them is up to you. Once you have tried all 4 then you vote!
Having a fun competition like this is just another reason to be proud of our area and what happens here.
2019 was the inaugural year for the Louise Burger challenge and what a success it was. We saw all sorts of posts and tags of burgers. 2020 was a sensational year and 2021 will be no exception! Each location did an amazing job of feeding everyone’s burger hunger. Each restaurant stepped up their burger game and brought a whole new burger to the table.
Everyone wins with this contest, you get to eat some incredible food, you get to talk about it, the restaurants get to serve you a menu item that is new and fun and we all celebrate by doing something together. Supporting these local restaurants shows them that their business matters. Buying local helps to keep our amazing communities alive and strong.  So get your hunger on and have fun eating burgers! Be sure to post about on all your socials and #louiseburgerweek while you are at it.
