Crystal City Lions Club was chartered April 1959, established as a service club for the community.

Lions Clubs International is the largest Service Organization in the World. There is a Membership "Family Plan" for members of the same family, living in the same household. We are always pleased to have new members join our club, and we welcome them with open arms.

Lions BBQ
Crystal City Lions club is very active in the community. Examples of our fundraising projects include: breakfast brunches, steak suppers, Meals on Wheels for the seniors, 100 club draw, only to name a few.

Funds raised by these projects are donated to local sports groups, youth in our communities, people in need, or are used to operate and maintain our local community hall. We also support Lions International Projects, such as Diabetes, Eye Programs, Youth Programs, and Hearing Programs.

We have a Graduation Scholarship of $500.00 named after Lion T.W. Rothwell, awarded yearly to a Grade 12 student who meets the criteria.

We have a Memorial Fund named in memory of one of our Lions who passed away which is used to assist people in our community to meet financial needs for medical expenses.

Our Mission Statement is: "To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs". Our Moto is: "WE SERVE".

Currently the club has 23 Active Members, 2 Associate Members, and 1 Life Member, who is also a Charter Member. The Executive consists of the President, Secretary, Treasurer, Tail Twister, and 2 Directors. We meet in the Community Hall the third Thursday of every month (except for July and August) at 6:30 pm for supper, followed by a meeting at 7:30.

Rock Lake Health Auxiliary
RLHA offers opportunities for individuals of all ages to be involved in promoting health and supporting the health care facilities in our community. There are no membership fees and the Auxiliary meets every other month except for July and August. The Auxiliary sponsors fund-raising activities such as bake sales, soup & sandwich luncheons, garage sales and raffles. The Auxiliary also delivers Meals on Wheels and supports the local flu clinics each fall. The Auxiliary has raised funds to purchase several items for the hospital and personal care home including an electric door, Lifeline Unites, monitors and patient beds to name a few. Opportunities to travel the province and meet other Auxiliary groups are sponsored by this ambitious and proactive group.

Crystal City Lioness Club
The Crystal City Lioness Club is a service organization comprised of women of any age that believe in the Lions Motto, "We Serve". The club meets for an evening out enjoying supper and a short business meeting nine times a year. This group of ambitious and community minded women pay a nominal $10.00 a year membership fee and work closely with the Lions Club of Crystal City to provide for various individuals and community projects. We support the local arena, the Country Carnival, sponsor the Annual Seniors Christmas Dinner, participate in Santa Day, present annual dinner theatres, provide funds equipment and medical expenses and support a number of Lions' projects. The majority of fund raising activities are catering to local functions. Our club combines work with fun activities and we enjoy the evening out.

Community Contact for Cancer
For those who are diagnosed with cancer, we have a community contact who will provide information, resources and support right here at home. The Community Contact has access to numerous resources and is familiar with who to contact with questions and needs. Working with CancerCare Manitoba and the Breast Cancer Centre of Hope, support and information is readily available. If you have been diagnosed with cancer, or know of someone who has many questions and wants to know about their illness, treatment and care, contact Pam King at 204-873-2490 anytime.

Rock Lake Health District
RLHD provides excellent care and a variety of activities and services for seniors. There are lots of volunteer opportunities to help enrich the lives of our seniors as well as those volunteering. For more information, call the volunteer co-ordinator at 204-825-2246, or call the Health District Business Office at 204-873-2132

Louise Community Support Services
LCSS has many opportunities for volunteers. If you have time or a skill you could share, call the coordinator at 204-873-2103, or at 204-825-2443. Louise Community Support Services has parking permits available, can arrange drivers for appointments, and Handi-Van information is available. Your skills and talents could be a way to volunteer in your community and get to know the people and community as well.

Memorial Garden
This is a beautiful garden in our downtown business section. It's a place to rest, relax and remember. The plants, shrubs, and benches are placed in the garden in memory of a loved one. It was the brainwave of some local gardeners who donate their time and talent to this beautiful gem in our town. Volunteers are always welcome - weeds grow and plants need pruning and watering. If you have a love of gardening and could help, this way to volunteer just might be the perfect fit.
