The Bell in the Park
This large bell no longer rings to mark 12 o'clock noon and 6:00 p.m. - "suppertime" as so many used to call it. It once proudly rang out from a tower on the 1899 Royal Music Hall where the Parklane Theatre now stands, and later from a tower on the United Church built in 1903. Its final resting place came in 1967 when it was mounted inside the front entrance to The Park.
It was last rung on November 11th, 2018 for the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI and the memory of those who gave their lives in that war and all conflicts since.
