Program Information

Pre/CanSkate

is Skate Canada's learn-to-skate program for beginners of all ages. It teaches fundamental movements and basic skills by focusing on fun, participation and basic skill development.

Whether your focus is figure skating, hockey, speed skating or recreational skating, CanSkate can help with improving your basic skills.

For those with limited skating experience, we recommend registering your skater in our PreCan Program.

For those with previous skating experience, we recommend registering your skater in our CanSkate Program.

Both programs are taught by NCCP-trained professional coaches, assisted by trained program assistants in a group format.

Pre/CanSkate is action, movement and FUN! It's never too late to learn how to skate!

Skaters progress at their own rate & coaches make sessions active with upbeat music & a wide variety of activities to promote learning.

Badges, ribbons and other incentives are used to benchmark skaters’ progress and reward effort and participation.
